I am a plant physiologist and spent most of my career in studying immunity in cereals and how the environment can modulate this central process. My research is now orientated in understanding how intra-specific neighbors modulate immunity as we recently demonstrated that they strongly impact disease resistance. Our approaches are mostly using molecular biology, genetics to analyze intraspecific mixtures under controlled conditions.
