University of Helsinki, Finlan

Anna-Liisa Laine is a Professor at the University of Helsinki (Finland) and a leading researcher in evolutionary ecology. Her work focuses on host–pathogen interactions, disease ecology, metapopulation dynamics, and eco-evolutionary processes in natural populations. Using both field and genomic approaches, she investigates how environmental variation and genetic diversity influence disease spread and adaptation. Her research has significantly advanced understanding of pathogen evolution and biodiversity maintenance in changing environments.
